Anti-Racism Action Steps

Here is a list of things we have been doing in our practice to continue our anti-racism work:

  1. Reserving reduced fee spots specifically for Black/Brown/Indigenous/POC clients and those with other marginalized identities experiencing financial hardship.
  2. Cultivating relationships with Black/Brown/POC, Indigenous, disabled, LGBTQIA+, fat* clinicians in our professional community and referring to them to meet client needs.
  3. Paying Black/Brown/POC, Indigenous, disabled, LGBTQIA+, fat* clinicians for supervision and consultation.
  4. Paying for and attending anti-racist trainings.
  5. Donating to Diversify Dietetics to promote diversity in the profession.
  6. Seeking out educational materials for clients that center Black/Brown/POC, Indigenous, disabled, LGBTQIA+, fat* experiences.
  7. Divesting from Health At Every Size and Body Liberation training/materials that exploit Black/Brown/POC, Indigenous, disabled, LGBTQIA+, fat* individuals.

*We use the term fat as a neutral descriptor, similarly to short or tall
